The way I work

Understanding comes first. It doesn’t end there.

I want to understand your experience before rushing to explain it. That means paying attention to how you’ve learned to see yourself, what you’ve come to expect of others, and why certain patterns can be difficult to change even when you recognize them.

From there, we can question familiar assumptions, consider different perspectives, and explore new ways of responding. I’ll share observations, ask direct questions, and welcome disagreement. If something isn’t useful, we’ll talk about it and adjust.

My approach

The approach follows the person, not the other way around.

My work is client-centred, integrative, and trauma-informed. Depending on your needs, we might explore the influence of earlier experiences, untangle relationship dynamics, work with difficult emotions, or practise different responses in everyday situations.

I draw on evidence-informed therapies without treating any one method as a formula. We decide together what to focus on, and we can change direction as the work develops.

Therapeutic approaches

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • DBT-informed approaches
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • IFS-informed approaches
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
  • Gottman-informed approaches

A little more about me

The person behind the practice.

I’ve always been curious about how people become who they are—the expectations we inherit, the roles we take on, and the beliefs we come to accept without questioning. People are more complicated, and more interesting, than any single label or problem.

I value honesty, different points of view, and a good sense of humour. I take the responsibilities of being a psychotherapist seriously, but I don’t believe professionalism requires distance or formality. There’s room to be human in the work we do together.
